Real Beauty Comes From The Lord:

1 Samuel 16:7 KJV
But The Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for The Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but The Lord looketh on the heart.

Zechariah 3:4 KJV (Joshua)
And He answered and spake unto those that stood before Him, saying, Take away the filthy garments from him. And unto him He said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe thee with change of raiment.

Isaiah 61:3,10 KJV
3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of The Lord, that He might be glorified.

But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of The Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by The Spirit Of The Lord.

Ephesians 5:25-27 KJV
25 "... Christ also loved the church, and gave Himself for it;
26 That He might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by The Word,
27 That He might present it to Himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

Philippians 3:20,21 NLT
20 But we are citizens of heaven, where The Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for Him to return as our Savior.

Philippians 4:8,9 KJV (We become like, what we feed on.)
8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
9 "...and the God Of Peace shall be with you.

I Peter 3:3,4 NLT

4 You should clothe yourselves instead with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God.

II Peter 1:4 NLT
And because of His glory and excellence, He has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share His divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.

8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.

Brethren, outward beauty decays, inward beauty lasts forever.

Psalm 90:17 KJV
And let the beauty of The Lord our God be upon us

Bible Lesson: Prophecies Made By The Lord Jesus: Fish Out Into The Deep

Bible Lesson: Prophecies Made By The Lord Jesus: Fish Out Into The Deep

The Prophecy: Peter Told To Go Out Into The Deep, And Then Let Down His Nets.

The Fulfillment: A Great Multitude Of Fishes.

Prophecy: The foretelling or prediction of what is to come.
Dictionary.Com
A prediction.

Bible Texts:

The Prophecy:
Luke 5:4 KJV
Now when He had left speaking, He said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.

The Fulfillment:
Luke 5:6 KJV
And when they had this done, they enclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.

The Story:

Luke 5:1-11 KJV
1 And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon Him to hear The Word Of God, He stood by the lake of Gennesaret,
2 And saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nets.
3 And He entered into one of the ships, which was Simon's, and prayed him that He would thrust out a little from the land. And He sat down, and taught the people out of the ship.
4 Now when He had left speaking, He said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.
5 And Simon answering said unto Him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy Word I will let down the net.
6 And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.
7 And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink.
8 When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord.
9 For he was astonished, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken:
10 And so was also James, and John, the sons of Zebedee, which were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men.
11 And when they had brought their ships to land, they forsook all, and followed Him.

(Dear Christian friend, we are about to embark on a journey of some 52 prophetic (predictions) teachings of our dear Savior, The Lord Jesus. Let us take a firm grasp together as we travel along with
The Master, and hear what He has to tell us.)

Having left Capernaum, Jesus went on to the shores of Galilee (Matthew 4:12-25).
There at the Sea of Galilee, multitudes of people pressed upon Him to hear the Word of God. .

Peter and Andrew, his brother as well as their partners James and John were there on the sea shore, washing their nets. Their empty boats were docked there. Jesus because He knew these men, thought it OK to ask Peter to cast off some short distance from the shore, in his boat, so as to be able to speak to the many people.

Jesus was “always,” eager to preach The Word, as so should His servants be.

Luke 5:4 KJV
Now when He had left speaking, He said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.

Luke 5:5 KJV
And Simon answering said unto Him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing...”

Oh, how many times do the people of God, argue with The Living God.
No, sorry Lord, that doesn't make any sense to me!” So they refuse, and miss His blessing.

Isaiah 40:13,14 KJV
13 Who hath directed The Spirit Of The Lord, or being His counsellor hath taught Him?
14 With whom took He counsel, and who instructed Him, and taught Him in the path of judgment, and taught Him knowledge, and shewed to Him the way of understanding?

Isaiah 46:9,10 KJV
9 Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like Me,
10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure:

Isaiah 55:8,9 KJV
8 For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, saith The Lord.
9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.

Romans 11:33,34 KJV
33 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are His judgments, and His ways past finding out!
34 For who hath known the mind of The Lord? or who hath been His counsellor?

Luke 5:5-11 KJV
5 And Simon answering said unto Him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy Word I will let down the net.

Dispondent today, because your net is empty? Without success because, you are fishing waters,
The Lord has not called you to. You cannot catch a multitude of fish, in shallow waters.
Obey the voice of The Lord...

I Samuel 15:22 KJV
And Samuel said, Hath The Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying The Voice Of The Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.

Luke 5:4 KJV
... He said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.

Luke 5:5 KJV
And Simon answering said unto Him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy Word I will let down the net.

Hebrews 11:6 KJV
But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.

Luke 5:6-11 KJV

I Corinthians 2:9-16 KJV
9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him.
10 But God hath revealed them unto us by His Spirit: for The Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but The Spirit Of God.
12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but The Spirit which is Of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which
The Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of The Spirit Of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.
16 For who hath known the mind of The Lord, that he may instruct Him? but we have the mind of Christ.

Friends, if we as Christian people would only “Trust,” The Lord, what great accomplishments we would see done!

Spiritual Warfare

Bible Questions Answered:
“...it seems as christian, we battle the devil who we cannot see,... and must not fail...”
Trisha/ Philadelphia, Pennsylvania   U.S.A.

Bible Answer:

Bible Texts:

Spiritual Warfare, is constantly being fought, and will be fought until the day Satan and his spirits are cast into the Lake of Fire.

Revelation 20:10,14,15 KJV
10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Called To Be A Spiritual Soldier.

Romans 7:21-25 NLT
21 I have discovered this principle of life—that when I want to do what is right, I inevitably do what is wrong.
22 I love God’s law with all my heart.
23 But there is another power within me that is at war with my mind. This power makes me a slave to the sin that is still within me.
24 Oh, what a miserable person I am! Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin and death?
25 Thank God! The answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord..."

Romans 13:12 KJV
The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of Light.

Romans 16:20 NLT
The God Of Peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. May the grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.

II Corinthians 10:3-5 NLT
3 We are human, but we don’t wage war as humans do.
4 We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments.
5 We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ.

Ephesians 6:10-18 KJV
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in The Lord, and in the power of His might.
11 Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against
the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with Truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

7 And God will provide rest for you who are being persecuted and also for us when the Lord Jesus appears from heaven. He will come with his mighty angels,

I Timothy 1:18,19 NLT
18 Timothy, my son, here are my instructions for you, based on the prophetic words spoken about you earlier. May they help you fight well in The Lord’s battles.

II Timothy 2:3,4 KJV
3 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
4 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please Him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.

I Timothy 6:12-14 NLT
12 Fight the good fight for the true faith. Hold tightly to the eternal life to which God has called you, which you have declared so well before many witnesses.
13 And I charge you before God, who gives life to all, and before Christ Jesus, who gave a good testimony before Pontius Pilate,
14 that you obey this command without wavering. Then no one can find fault with you from now until our Lord Jesus Christ comes again.

II Timothy 2:1-4, 8-13 NLT
1 Timothy, my dear son, be strong through the grace that God gives you in Christ Jesus.
2 You have heard me teach things that have been confirmed by many reliable witnesses. Now teach these truths to other trustworthy people who will be able to pass them on to others.
3 Endure suffering along with me, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus.
4 Soldiers don’t get tied up in the affairs of civilian life, for then they cannot please the officer who enlisted them.
8 Always remember that Jesus Christ, a descendant of King David, was raised from the dead. This is the Good News I preach.
9 And because I preach this Good News, I am suffering and have been chained like a criminal. But The Word Of God cannot be chained.
10 So I am willing to endure anything if it will bring salvation and eternal glory in Christ Jesus to those God has chosen.
11 This is a trustworthy saying: If we die with Him, we will also live with Him.
12 If we endure hardship, we will reign with Him.
If we deny Him, He will deny us.
13 If we are unfaithful, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny who He is.

II Timothy 4:18 KJV
And The Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto His heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Hebrews 4:12 KJV
For The Word Of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

James 4:7 KJV
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

I Peter 5:8,9 KJV
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

Revelation 12:11 KJV
And they overcame him by The Blood Of The Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Romans 8:35,37-39 KJV
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us.
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

I John 5:4,5 KJV
4 For whatsoever is born of God over cometh the world: and this is the victory that over cometh the world, even our faith.
5 Who is he that over cometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is
The Son Of God?

Isaiah 28:13

Bible Questions Answered:
“What is it saying in Isaiah 28:13? ...”

Bible Answer:

Bible Text:
Isaiah 28:13 KJV
But The Word Of The Lord was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.

Isaiah 28:13 NLT
So The Lord will spell out His message for them again, one line at a time,
one line at a time, a little here, and a little there, so that they will stumble and fall. They will be injured, trapped, and captured.

Isaiah the Prophet of The Lord, was speaking to Samaria. Here is his description in the 28th chapter regarding the Samaritans.

Isaiah 28:1 NLT
"...a people brought down by wine.

Isaiah 28:3 NLT
"... the drunks of Israel..."

Isaiah 28:7,8 NLT
7 Now, however, Israel is led by drunks who reel with wine and stagger with alcohol.
The priests and prophets stagger with alcohol and lose themselves in wine. They reel when they see visions and stagger as they render decisions.
8 Their tables are covered with vomit; filth is everywhere.

At a time when they should have been in repentance, and prayer, for Assyria was soon to, kill and carry away into captivity all its people.

Isaiah 28:2 NLT
For The Lord will send a mighty army against it. Like a mighty hailstorm and a torrential rain, they will burst upon it like a surging flood and smash it to the ground.

The people of the Northern Kingdom, mocked its prophets, while crying that all their talk and rules only wearied them.

Isaiah 28:9,10,13 NLT
9 “Who does The Lord think we are?” they ask, “Why does He speak to us like this?
Are we little children, just recently weaned?
10 He tells us everything over and over—one line at a time one line at a time,
a little here, and a little there!”
13 So The Lord will spell out His message for them again, one line at a time,
one line at a time, a little here, and a little there, so that they will stumble and fall. They will be injured, trapped, and captured.

But the drunken men of Samaria boasted in their reply:

Isaiah 28:15 NLT
15 “...We have struck a bargain to cheat death and have made a deal to dodge the grave.
The coming destruction can never touch us, for we have built a strong refuge made of lies and deception.”

The Lord answered them:

Isaiah 28:18,19 NLT
18 I will cancel the bargain you made to cheat death, and I will overturn your deal to dodge the grave.
When the terrible enemy sweeps through, you will be trampled into the ground.
19 Again and again that flood will come, morning after morning, day and night, until you are carried away.”

Isaiah 28:1-3 NLT (The Prophets lament.)
1 What sorrow awaits the proud city of Samaria— the glorious crown of the drunks of Israel.
It sits at the head of a fertile valley, but its glorious beauty will fade like a flower. It is the pride of a people brought down by wine.
2 For The Lord will send a mighty army against it. Like a mighty hailstorm and a torrential rain, they will burst upon it like a surging flood and smash it to the ground.
3 The proud city of Samaria— the glorious crown of the drunks of Israel— will be trampled beneath its enemies’ feet.

Because the people of God (Northern Kingdom) heeded not the warning of God, indeed they stumbled, fell, became injured and captured. (Assyrian invasion 722 B.C.)

What a warning to any people today!

Psalm 37:28 KJV
For the Lord loveth judgment, and forsaketh not His saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.

Proverbs 28:13 KJV
He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

Hebrews 4:7 KJV
"...To day if ye will hear His voice, harden not your hearts.

Proverbs 15:29 KJV
The Lord is far from the wicked: but He heareth the prayer of the righteous.

Bible Lesson: Parables Of The Old Testament: Holy Flesh

Bible Lesson: Parables Of The Old Testament: Holy Flesh

Spoken By: Haggai

Location: Jerusalem

Bible Text:

Haggai 2:10-14 NLT (Blessings Promised for Obedience)
10 On December 18 of the second year of King Darius’s reign, The Lord sent this message to the prophet Haggai:
11 “This is what The Lord Of Heaven’s Armies says. Ask the priests this question about the law:
12 ‘If one of you is carrying some meat from a holy sacrifice in his robes and his robe happens to brush against some bread or stew, wine or olive oil, or any other kind of food, will it also become holy?’”

The priests replied, “No.”

13 Then Haggai asked, “If someone becomes ceremonially unclean by touching a dead person and then touches any of these foods, will the food be defiled?”

And the priests answered, “Yes.”

14 Then Haggai responded, “That is how it is with this people and this nation, says The Lord. Everything they do and everything they offer is defiled by their sin.

The Prophet Haggai, speaking for The Lord, asks the two following questions:

1) ‘If one of you is carrying some meat from a holy sacrifice in his robes and his robe happens to brush against some bread or stew, wine or olive oil, or any other kind of food, will it also become holy?’”

The priests replied, “No.”

2) Then Haggai asked, “If someone becomes ceremonially unclean by touching a dead person and then touches any of these foods, will the food be defiled?”

And the priests answered, “Yes.”

Then the prophet answers...

Haggai 2:14 NLT
That is how it is with this people and this nation, says The Lord. Everything they do and everything they offer is defiled by their sin.

And just what was their sin? They had neglected the rebuilding of the temple.

The Players:

King Zerubbabel: Appointed governor of Judea, by Cyrus.

Haggai: Prophet of the captivity.

Cyrus: Head of the Persian Empire.

Darius: In succession after Cyrus, King Darius of the Persian Empire.

The People Addressed By Haggai: Exiles of Jerusalem.

Joshua: The High Priest.

Zerubbabel and Joshua had laid the foundation of the temple some 15, to 16 years earlier, but nothing had happened since.

Haggai 1:2-4 NLT
2 “This is what The Lord Of Heaven’s Armies says: The people are saying, The time has not yet come to rebuild the house of The Lord.’”
3 Then The Lord sent this message through the prophet Haggai:
4 “Why are you living in luxurious houses while My house lies in ruins?

Lethargy and indifference had fallen upon the people of God. True the Samaritans did all they could to stop the building, but the enthusiasm of the people had died.

So, what were the results?

Living Under Judgment:

Haggai 1:5-7, 9-11 NLT
5 This is what The Lord Of Heaven’s Armies says: Look at what’s happening to you!
6 You have planted much but harvest little. You eat but are not satisfied. You drink but are still thirsty. You put on clothes but cannot keep warm. Your wages disappear as though you were putting them in pockets filled with holes!
7 “This is what The Lord Of Heaven’s Armies says: Look at what’s happening to you!

9 You hoped for rich harvests, but they were poor. And when you brought your harvest home, I blew it away. Why? Because My House lies in ruins, says
The Lord Of Heaven’s Armies, while all of you are busy building your own fine houses.
10 It’s because of you that the heavens withhold the dew and the earth produces no crops.
11 I have called for a drought on your fields and hills—a drought to wither the grain and grapes and olive trees and all your other crops, a drought to starve you and your livestock and to ruin everything you have worked so hard to get.”

Haggai's Parables (read again, above):

  1. Holy Flesh: A holy offering does not make holy whatever it comes in contact with.
  2. An unclean thing, pollutes anything it comes in contact with.

The people of God had spent year after year making and beautifying their own homes, while not lifting a hand to rebuild the temple of God.

The meaning: Dear people of God, all the good works you do, will never compensate for the neglect of doing what you should do!
\
8 Now go up into the hills, bring down timber, and rebuild My house. Then I will take pleasure in it and be honored, says The Lord.

Haggai 1:12-15 NLT (Obedience to God’s Call)
12 Then Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and the whole remnant of God’s people began to obey the message from The Lord their God. When they heard the words of the prophet Haggai, whom The Lord their God had sent, the people feared The Lord.
13 Then Haggai, The Lord’s messenger, gave the people this message from The Lord: “I am with you, says The Lord!”
14 So The Lord sparked the enthusiasm of Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the enthusiasm of Jeshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and the enthusiasm of the whole remnant of God’s people. They began to work on the house of their God, The Lord Of Heaven’s Armies,
15 on September 21 of the second year of King Darius’s reign.

Haggai 2:4,5 NLT
4 But now The Lord says: Be strong, Zerubbabel. Be strong, Jeshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest. Be strong, all you people still left in the land. And now get to work, for I am with you, says The Lord Of Heaven’s Armies.
5 My Spirit remains among you, just as I promised when you came out of Egypt. So do not be afraid.’

Doesn't this sound eerily familiar, dear friend?

Dear people of God, all the good works you do, will never compensate for the neglect of doing what you should do!

Romans 5:1 KJV
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

Romans 6:23 KJV
For the wages of sin is death; but The Gift Of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 11:6 NLT
And since it is through God’s kindness, then it is not by their good works. For in that case, God’s grace would not be what it really is—free and undeserved.

Ephesians 2:8,9 KJV
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is The Gift Of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Titus 3:5 KJV
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of The Holy Ghost;

All the righteous works in the world, to “earn-salvation, God's blessings”, will only bring judgment.
Salvation (God's blessing) is by obedience!

Matthew 7:21 KJV
Not every one that saith unto Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of My Father which is in heaven.

Acts 2:21 KJV
And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of The Lord shall be saved.

Romans 10:13 KJV
For whosoever shall call upon the name of The Lord shall be saved.

The people of God in Haggai's day, put their own (selfish) works, ahead of The Lord's will, and they only met with judgment until, they stopped to hear the voice of The Lord.

What pleases God, what brings God's blessings to us today, is being obedient to the voice of The Lord.

John 3:14-16 KJV
14 "...The Son Of Man be lifted up:
15 That whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His Only Begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of The Only Begotten Son Of God.

Matthew 10:37 KJV
He that loveth father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.

Matthew 19:29 KJV
And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for My name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.

Matthew 28:18-20 KJV
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto Me in heaven and in earth.
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of The Father, and of The Son, and of The Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Emotional Hearers

Bible Questions Answered:
“...I heard some one say “emotional hearers,” what are those?”
Pat/ London, England United Kingdom

Bible Answer:

Bible Texts:

Emotion:
An affective state of consciousness in which joy, sorrow, fear, hate, or the like, is experienced, as distinguished from cognitive and volitional states of consciousness.
(Dictionary.Com)

People ruled by their emotions, rather than by cognitive (The mental processes of reasoning and knowing.) abilities.

Thus our Lord said...

Emotional Hearers
Mark 4:1-8 KJV
1 And He began again to teach by the sea side: and there was gathered unto Him a great multitude, so that He entered into a ship, and sat in the sea; and the whole multitude was by the sea on the land.
2 And He taught them many things by parables, and said unto them in His doctrine,
3 Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow:
4 And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up.
5 And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth:
6 But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away.
7 And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit.
8 And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred.

Other Examples:

On the shores of Galilee, Jesus had spent the day teaching and healing the multitudes, and it was getting to be late.
Because the multitudes would not go back home, He gave His disciples orders to depart to the other side of the lake, and here is one reason why...

John 6:3,15 KJV
3 And Jesus went up into a mountain, and there He sat with His disciples.
15 When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take Him by force, to make Him a king, He departed again into a mountain Himself alone.

Emotional Hearers
Matthew 8:19,20 NLT
19 Then one of the teachers of religious law said to Him, “Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go.”
20 But Jesus replied, “Foxes have dens to live in, and birds have nests, but
The Son Of Man has no place even to lay His head.”

“Pastor, wasn't this wonderful, the eagerness of this man?”

No. Our Lord's response, shows that He was “not,” pleased! Jesus had not come to incite "fans for the kingdom" (Emotional Hearers), He had come to call disciples who would be willing to live and die for the kingdom of God.

Living for The Lord, involves a lot more for someone than just being a cheering fan of The Lord!
Living for The Lord, means making Him The Master of their life.
Living for The Lord, means making Him The Lord of their home.
Living for The Lord, means taking Him, with them everyday without exception, on the job.
Living for The Lord, means taking Him, and honoring Him, at all their social gatherings
Living for The Lord, means willingness to bear the cross of death to self, and taking the path of life in The Lord.

Emotional Hearers
Mark 10:17-22 KJV (The Rich Young Ruler)
17 And when He was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to Him, and asked Him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?
18 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.
19 Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honor thy father and mother.
20 And he answered and said unto Him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth.

21 Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest:

Go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and

Come, take up the cross, and follow Me.

22 And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions.

The rich young ruler had much “enthusiasm,” but he had “not,” counted the cost of following
The Lord Jesus.

Emotional Hearers
Luke 11:27 KJV
And it came to pass, as He spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto Him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked.

OK, Jesus, are you onboard with this acclamation?
Mary, isn't she most blessed, and holy, worthy to be worshipped?? Co-redemptrix, what say ye?

No, Jesus was “not,” onboard with this saying!
Jesus alone is Savior!

Isaiah 42:8 KJV
I am The Lord: that is My name: and My glory will I not give to another, neither My praise to graven images.

Acts 4:10-12 KJV
10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of
Jesus Christ Of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead...
11 This is The Stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become
The Head Of The Corner.
12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

John 14:6 KJV
Jesus saith unto him, I am The Way, The Truth, and The Life: no man cometh unto
The Father, but by Me.

For all who would like to read soooo much more on this subject http://www.amazon.com/
When there look for the book “Salvation We Are Not Afraid!

This womans response was an emotional response!
“Really, what did Jesus say?

Luke 11:27,28 KJV
27 And it came to pass, as He spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto Him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked.
28 But He (Jesus) said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear The Word Of God, and keep it.

Galatians 4:15 NLT
15 Where is that joyful and grateful spirit you felt then? I am sure you would have taken out your own eyes and given them to me if it had been possible.

At the beginning the Galatians enthusiasm knew no bounds.

16 Have I now become your enemy because I am telling you The Truth?
17 Those false teachers are so eager to win your favor, but their intentions are not good. They are trying to shut you off from me so that you will pay attention only to them.
18 If someone is eager to do good things for you, that’s all right; but let them do it all the time, not just when I’m with you.
19 Oh, my dear children! I feel as if I’m going through labor pains for you again, and they will continue until Christ is fully developed in your lives.

The Galatians had begun with great enthusiasm, but Judaizing teachers had crept in to separate the Galatians from the apostle Paul, and his Christ centered teachings.

The Apostle said “Oh, my dear children! I feel as if I’m going through labor pains for you again, and they will continue until Christ is fully developed in your lives.”

The Galatians, needed to grow from just enthusiasm to spiritual maturity.

So, where does this find us today, dear follower of Jesus Christ?
Are you a fan, or are you a disciple? Someone counting well, the cost of faithfully following The Lord Jesus Christ, yes even by a cross to follow Him?

Mark 10:21 KJV
"...come, take up the cross, and follow Me.
