“The
early believers, sent out handkerchiefs that had been prayer over for
the healing of the sick, should we be doing that today?...”
Glenda/
Bluefield, West Virginia U.S.A.
Bible Answer:
Bible Texts:
Acts
19:11,12 NLT
11
God gave Paul the power to perform unusual miracles. 12 When handkerchiefs or aprons that had merely touched his skin were placed on sick people, they were healed of their diseases, and evil spirits were expelled.
Acts
5:12-16 KJV
12
And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought
among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon's
porch.13 And of the rest durst no man join himself to them: but the people magnified them.
14 And believers were the more added to The Lord, multitudes both of men and women.)
15 Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.
16 There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.
Versus:
Mark
6:13 KJV
And
they cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that
were sick, and healed them.
James
5:14,15 KJV
14
Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and
let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of
The Lord:15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and The Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
Question: Now which of these stories is the most miraculous?
The Handkerchiefs and aprons or the oil?
Answer: They all are miraculous! The sick, the bound, all have
had the mighty hand of God touch them.
Should we anoint the sick, the bound, with oil, and have the brethren pray? Yes, James tells us, this is what we should do!
Should we send out handkerchiefs and aprons that have been prayer over, for healing and deliverance, well if we were to ask the Apostle Paul, he'd say YES!
We are only limited by our own faith.
Mark 6:5,6 KJV (Jesus Rejected at Nazareth)
5
And He could there do no mighty work, save that He laid His hands
upon a few sick folk, and healed them.6 And He marveled because of their unbelief.
Mark 9:23 KJV
Hebrews
11:6 KJV
But
without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to
God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that
diligently seek Him.
Many
have written from prayer groups....what if someone says...
“Pastor, we would like to send prayer cloths, to the persecuted church of ….., is that a good idea?” “ So that they will be strengthened and protected by the Lord.”
Great idea, and send a gift to financially help them as well, if you can.
Christian, you are only limited by your Godly imagination.
Faith Is The Victory
Encamped along the hills of light,
Ye Christian soldiers, rise,
And press the battle ere the night
Shall veil the glowing skies.
Against the foe in vales below
Let all our strength be hurled;
Faith is the victory, we know,
That overcomes the world.
Chorus:
Faith is the victory!Faith is the victory!
Oh, glorious victory,
That overcomes the world.
His banner over us is love,
Our sword The Word Of God;We tread the road the saints above
With shouts of triumph trod.
By faith, they like a whirlwind’s breath,
Swept on o’er every field;
The faith by which they conquered death
Is still our shining shield.
On every hand the foe we find
Drawn up in dread array;
Let tents of ease be left behind,
And onward to the fray.
Salvation’s helmet on each head,
With truth all girt about,
The earth shall tremble ’neath our tread,
And echo with our shout.
To him that overcomes the foe,
White raiment shall be giv’n;Before the angels he shall know
His name confessed in heav’n.
Then onward from the hills of light,
Our hearts with love aflame,
We’ll vanquish all the hosts of night,
In Jesus’ conqu’ring name.

other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”
