The bilingual website (English and Dutch) www.soulsofdistortion.nl hosts an e-book that can either be read on-line or can be downloaded in PDF form. The title of the e-book is ‘Souls of Distortion Awakening’, a convergence of science and spirituality’. Also the Dutch translation ‘Ontheemde Zielen Ontwaken, een samengaan van wetenschap en spiritualiteit’, is available on-line and in PDF form.
The book is free of charge and the website provides additional background information to support and substantiate the subject of the book. As the subtitle of the book suggests, it’s about an integration of science and spirituality, 300 years after the bifurcation that was initiated by thinkers like Descartes and Newton. In increasing numbers, groundbreaking scientists now come forward with radical new ideas and show how esoteric eastern cosmologies may have been right after all when they stated that the universe is a consciousness evolving whole. Research in the area of biology, physics and yes, even in consciousness itself, reveals that coherence in nature is the norm and not the exception. It’s because we’ve been so indoctrinated by a materialistic scientific mindset, the legacy of our scientific achievements in the past 300 years that has given us all of these wonderful technologies but deprived us of our spirituality, that we failed to see and recognize the interconnectedness in the universe. The result has been that we studied nature and viewed our reality as compartmentalized, existing of independent parts that we as an observer have nothing to do with. However in the last century quantum science started to demonstrate that in reality, the observer and the observed can not be separated and that on an energetic level we’re infinitely connected to everyone and everything else in the universe. Bear in mind that ancient spiritual teachings have always spoken of the Oneness of our universe.

New insights also stem from the discovery of the zero point field, an omnipresent inexhaustible energy field that is all around us. Many thinkers now believe that the material world is simply the manifestation of this energy field and that matter is no more than a vibration pattern in the fabric of space. This makes the universe one floating vibrating sea of energy that connects everything with everything else and shows how separation is just an illusion. In addition, the possibility of tapping free zero point energy from the background sea of energy in the universe has inspired many researchers around the world to start looking for this energy as an alternative energy form that can replace oil. Just ponder the consequences on a global scale.
A popular movie that expresses many of the above issues most elegantly is called ‘What the Bleep’ and in fact the book ‘Souls of Distortion Awakening’ deals with many of the scientists occurring in this film.

Another important point that the book addresses is that our current society is not the pinnacle of civilization as we are taught at school. There’s abundant proof and there are many artefacts around the globe that indicate that highly developed civilizations must have preceded our own. Souls of Distortion Awakening discusses the lost ancient civilizations of Mu, Lemuria and Atlantis and in the book it is postulated that the Great Pyramid in Egypt is a legacy of Atlantis. It’s from these civilizations that many of the ancient mythologies and spiritual esoteric teachings that we find around the world originated. As predicted by the late psychic Edgar Cayce, modern day science is no less than a rediscovery of the great sciences of these lost civilizations.
Many spiritual teachings also explain that time is not linear and that in fact our evolution is following precise cosmic cycles. The Mayan Long Count calendar is one of the calendar systems that expresses this cyclic nature of time. The Maya calendar has sparked the interest of many researchers and writers since its ending date on the 21st December 2012 allegedly signals the end of a 26.000 years cosmic cycle that coincides with a rare galactic alignment. Ancient prophecies such as those of the Maya and the Hopi say that the 21st December 2012 will mark the end of the world as we know it and that humanity will make a quantum leap in consciousness as we enter a new Golden Age. However the ending of this age will not be smooth and will be accompanied by tribulations. Both the Maya and Edgar Cayce, the greatest psychic of the 20th century mentioned the Earth Changes that would precede these changes. The Earth Changes comprise an increase of earthquakes, volcanic activity and dramatic climate changes. We can all verify that the fulfilment of these prophecies have come to pass now that it has become mainstream headline news.
Are we indeed living in period that marks the end-of-time, a time mentioned in the Bible as the Apocalypse, the time of Revelations? Are the ancient prophecies of the past coming to pass and will the current developments in science eventually lead to a scientific revolution that could enlighten humanity? That’s the question that’s being addressed in the book ‘Souls of Distortion Awakening’.
